The Cultural Center  “MELINA”  is sheltered the former HAT FACTORY POULOPOULOU building that constructed in 1886. The municipality of Athens bought and renovate  it in 1994.

Hosts two permanent collections, the “Travelogue of old Athens” that presents the  old Athens neighborhood in 20th century  with buildings, homes, shops.
The collection  Theatre of Shadows “Xaridimos” which present almost one thousand exhibits of  figures, clothbound handmade books etc.

Also, the center have two exhibitions places. The place of ‘Melina’ 220 t.m. and a  consolidated place on 1st floor 380 t.m. that host temporary exhibitions of paintings, photograph, sculpture.

 Educational and social communities visit everyday these collections.
